These are some of the grid structures I have been developing. The first idea was a simple double page spread (as seen on the bottom) with an emphasis on one main image and text to support. However, after considering that I wanted my book to be a reference book showcasing various designers work, the need for more image space was necessary. The second idea (middle) was to have each page with a fold out tab which would contain the body text, leaving the double page spread to only have imagery. I then chose to combine the two together and create a double page spread with the right page having a flip out feature. Throughout the book a feature article will need more space, and instead of having it on a seperate spread, create a linear spread that can act as a storyboard for the feature designer. The cover that I originally planned to pursue (top left) was based on a fold out page which would have a main title and information when unfolded similar to the design below.
